Petar Bakašun was born and raised in Split, where he had the privilege of growing up in a town where a modern city intricately intertwines with Roman heritage. Summers during his youth were spent cruising with his family's sailing boat Jadran through the islands of Dalmatia. This unique environment left a lasting imprint on his understanding of the built environment.
He later pursued his education in the town of Ljubljana, at the Faculty of Architecture. There, under the mentorship of Professor Aleš Vodopivec, Professor Maruša Zorec, and finally Professor Tadej Glažar, Petar deepened his understanding of methodological approaches, the values of time and culture, and the role of architecture in addressing fundamental human experiences.
In 2021, he graduated first in his generation with a master's thesis titled "Musealization of the Archaeological Park Salona." The thesis, completed under the guidance of Professor Tadej Glažar, focused on regenerative processes and the application of heritage in rethinking urbanity and mobility in the city of Solin, Croatia.
After graduation, Petar moved to Zagreb to join the architectural office njiric+ arhitekti, where he worked across various scales and typologies, further intensifying and articulating the interests developed during his studies. At the office, he was actively involved in numerous large-scale projects and competition teams, contributing to award-winning proposals and gaining extensive professional experience. He worked as part of the design teams on projects such as Kindergarten Pujanke in Split, Kindergarten Zvoncic Voltino in Zagreb, Bazen Špansko in Zagreb, Kamensko residential complex (FRANC) in Zagreb, among many others.
In 2024, Petar established his own architectural practice, continuing along the path shaped by the formative academic and professional years that preceded it.
